GENERAL
1. This Prospectus is
approved by the Government of NWFP & applies to all students of MBBS/ BDS of
NWFP Medical/Dental Colleges. The Government of NWFP reserves the right to
change any or all rules and regulations given in this prospectus without
previous notice whenever considered necessary. Each candidate must study it
thoroughly before applying for admission.
2.
The Admission Policy contained in the prospectus shall be
applicable to all NWFP Medical & Dental Colleges under the administrative
control of Government of NWFP namely:
i. Khyber Medical
College (KMC) Peshawar
ii. Ayub Medical
College (AMC) Abbottabad
iii. Saidu Medical
College (SMC) Swat
iv. Gomal Medical
College (GMC) DI Khan
v. Khyber College
of Dentistry (KCD) Peshawar
vi. Dental Section Ayub Medical College, Abbottabad
3.
Medical/Dental Colleges of
NWFP offer 5 year/4 year courses leading to MBBS/BDS degree respectively and are
affiliated with different public sector universities in the NWFP.
4.
Admission to the Medical/Dental Colleges will be
finalized by the Joint
Admission Committee.
5.
All
candidates and students are required to read, know and abide by the rules and
regulations mentioned in this prospectus. Ignorance of these is no excuse. Any
change/addition/modification/decision if made in the rules & regulations after
publication of this prospectus shall also be applicable to all
applicants/students.
6.
The fees and subscription given in this prospectus
are payable by all students of Medical & Dental Colleges from 1st
year to Final year classes irrespective of year of admission. This may be
subject to adjustment by the Government from time to time corresponding to
inflation and increasing cost of education.
7.
The Principals of the Colleges reserve the right to make
any change in the syllabi, curriculum and examination for MBBS/BDS students, as
and when notified by Pakistan Medical & Dental Council, at any time during the
course of studies.
8.
Cost of litigation regarding admission, examination or
any other matter of a student will be born by the respective colleges.
9.
The Government/Colleges will endeavour to establish
provision for a scholarship scheme for students of NWFP and FATA to support
meritorious, needy and disabled students in meeting the cost of their education.
Other Government/Organizations may wish to similarly support their own students.
All efforts will be made to ensure that the scholarships for NWFP/FATA are
maintained. However, for compelling financial reasons, the Government reserves
the right to make adjustments in the same. Candidates must indicate in the
relevant column of the application form for any financial help they would need
during their studies. They must apply for a Scholarship/financial assistance,
once they are admitted. The decision to offer or deny assistance shall vest in
the college.
10.
The Joint Admission Committee shall exercise its power to
decide all cases related to admission, and decision of the Joint Admission
Committee shall be accepted by the candidates. Review against decision of the
JAC should be filed before the chairman within 3 days after the final selection.
Aggrieved candidates, however, will have the right of appeal to the Government
within 7 days, whose decision shall be final. |
