ADMISSION PROCEDURE

A.5 UNIVERSITY EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM  (UEDP) ---Foreign Nationals:

§ 16 (Sixteen) Seats in the constituent medical colleges (DMC & SMC), have been    reserved for foreign nationals.

§ All Candidates for foreign national seats are to be nominated by Higher Education Commission (HEC) Government Pakistan, Islamabad.

§ Candidates nominated for admission against this category will have to pay US$16000/- (U.S. Dollars. Sixteen Thousand Only), for the first two years, within
seven days of selection.

§ Fee for third, fourth and final year, US$ 8000/yr (U.S. Dollars eight thousand) per year will have to be paid, at the start of each session.

A.6 PAKISTAN TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (PTAP), BANGLADESH & INDIAN HELD KASHMIR (IHK)

§ 36 (Thirty Six) Seats have been reserved in constituent medical colleges (DMC &SMC).

§ Candidates on PTAP, Bangladesh and Indian Held Kashmir (IHK) are nominated by Ministry of Economic Affairs Division, Government of Pakistan, Islamabad.

A.7 DISABLED CANDIDATES

§ 4 (Four) Seats have been reserved in the constituent medical colleges (DMC & SMC), for disabled candidates.

§ Candidates who have applied in this category will first be considered on general merit and then on disabled quota.

§ The candidate has to produce disability certificate issued by the social welfare department, Govt of sindh, Karachi, stating that:

    -  He / she is a disabled candidate.

-  He / she is mentally fit and physically able to carry out his / her studies and can perform professional duties after qualifying M.B.B.S.

§ Disability is defined as, that degree of physical disability which puts the candidate at disadvantages as compared to a normal person for acquiring education before entering into medical institution, but otherwise capable of performing his / her duties satisfactorily as a medical practitioner.

§ Disability should not be of such a severe degree that makes him / her unable to acquire medical education or work as a doctor.

§ Selection against these reserved seats will be made from the list of the disabled candidates strictly on merit basis.

SPECIAL MEDICAL BOARD: 

A Special Medical Board shall be constituted by the Dow University of Health Sciences, Karachi to examine the candidates and to establish the disability according to the disability definition. The Special Medical Board will issue a certificate, for final inclusion of the names under this category, its decision will be final.

A.8 Fatima Jinnah Medical College Lahore. 

§ Fatima Jinnah Medical College Lahore has allocated 4 (four) seats on open merit for candidates of Dow University of Health Sciences on merit cum choice basis.

§ According to open merit 4 (four) female students will be given the option of studying in Fatima Jinnah Medical College Lahore.

2B. CATEGORY OF SEATS FOR B.D.S. LUMHS (Jamshoro) 06 Seats 

§ 06 (six) seats have been reserved for BDS at LUMHS Jamshoro for candidates domiciled in district Karachi.

§ Candidates will have to follow the eligibility criteria & other formalities including entrance test as mentioned below.

§ Candidates should apply on the same form as for MBBS admission in this prospectus.

NOTE:

§ Fill in only one application form.

§ Single entry test will be held for all categories.

§ For categories A,1,2,3,7,8 and 2B, admission will be offered on merit cum choice basis.

§ For category of UEDP --- overseas, admissions will be given on merit of this category only.
