DISTRICT WISE ALLOCATION OF SEATS FOR MBBS

GENERAL MERIT CATEGORY

Following is district-wise distribution of General Merit Merit-cum-Choice seats for MBBS course at LUMHS Selection Center which include 263 seats for admission in LUMHS and 75 girls candidates for admission in Peoples Medical College Nawabshah.

LUMHS (Jamshoro Selection Center)

Note:- Out of 263 seats available in LUMHS, 23 candidates will be selected on merit cum choice for admission in Dow Medical University, Karachi (DMC & SMC) as under:

UNIVERSITY EDUCATION ASSISTANCE PROGRAMM (UEAP/IEAP LOCAL

SELF FINANCE) MBBS SEATS AT LUMHS & PMC AT THE RATE OF RS:0.3(M) PER ACADEMIC YEAR.

UEAP (LOCAL).     

UNIVERSITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME (UDP) SELF FINANCE SCHEME.

A total number of 25 seats are offered to the candidates who are domiciled of Sindh province (except Karachi) under University Development Programme (UDP) self finance scheme at the rate of Rs:0.5(M) for admission in first year and thereafter Rs:0.4(M) for remaining years i.e. 2nd year to 5th year in Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences Jamshoro on open merit basis.

Two seats at the Fatima Jinnah Medical College (FJMC) Lahore

The LUMHS selection center Jamshoro shall make selection for nomination of 02 reserved seats in Fatima Jinnah Medical College Lahore, on the basis of merit cum choice. The candidates, who have not given option, will not be considered for these seats. These seats are allocated in addition to the general merit seats of each center. The adjustment for admission in LUMHS shall be made from general pool merit of the selection center. In case the reserved seats still fall vacant, then the same shall be filled from waiting general pool merit (those candidates who have already given the options for the same).

RESERVED SEATS FOR CHILDREN OF PAKISTANIS LIVING ABROAD

Some seats, in Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences and Peoples Medical College Nawabshah of Sindh Province have been reserved for children of Pakistanis living abroad subject to criteria and other formalities for admissions to MBBS course as prescribed in the Prospectus. Candidates selected for admission against these seats shall have to pay US$10000/-(United States dollars Ten Thousand only) per year as fees against these seats. Application for these seats will be forwarded/attested by Pakistan’s embassies abroad and will be submitted to Head of the concerned Institution. (Applications for this category will be received after the display of Final Merit List). The fees for seats of overseas Pakistanis at PMC Nawabshah is US$7000/- per year.

UNIVERSITY / INSTIITUTIONAL EDUCATION ASSISTANCE PROGRAMME (UEAP/IEAP)

Fifty (50) seats for MBBS, as mentioned in “Distribution of Seats of tagged District in LUMHS” and 23 for BDS as mentioned in Distribution of seats domiciled in Sindh province (except Karachi District) have been reserved for local students on University Educational Assistance Programme subject to criteria and other formalities for admission (through Entry Test) as prescribed in the prospectus. All those candidates who have applied on UEAP (Local) will be first considered on General Merit then on Self Finance.

OPTION ONCE GIVEN SHALL BE FINAL. Once a candidate exercise an option for a seat on merit cum choice basis and fails to avail the same, her admission shall stand cancelled & will not be considered on open merit if seats fall vacant. This needs strict compliance by the admission Committee.

Explanatory Notes:

i). 75 girls from LUMHS selection center, either by choice or the lowest overall merit shall be admitted to PMC, Nawabshah. OPTION ONCE GIVEN SHALL BE TREATED AS FINAL. Once a candidate offers an option for Admission in PMC on Merit Cum Choice basis and fails to avail the same, her admission shall be treated as cancelled & will not be considered on open merit  even some seats fall vacant.

ii). Candidates for admission under admission category “Foreign National under (PTAP )” will be admitted after their nomination by the Government of Pakistan, Ministry of Economic Affairs Division, Islamabad.

iii). Candidates for admission under admission category “Foreign Nationals (UAEP/IEAP)” are to be required nominated by Higher Education Commission Islamabad. However candidate for admission under category “Afghan refugees” must be nominated by Economic Affairs Division Islamabad

iv). Students admitted under PTAP programme shall be required to obtain at least 60% marks as per equivalence from IBCC Islamabad in three Science subjects Physics, Chemistry & Biology together with minimum SAT score 1500, according to Rules and Regulations of PM&DC.
