College Library Like every educational institute College Campus has a library that contains a huge collection of Medical books. Latest foreign editions of commonly used books are available in sufficient numbers. Library full fills the of undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate requirements of books. New editions of books are regularly updated and all the measures are taken for availability of books to every student
Location: It is run under the supervision of Chief LIBRARIAN Mr. Rana M. Ashfaq Khan (M.A library science &, DLC1969-70). His experience and hard working made this library very impressive. Library goal is to collect 75,000 literary books in few years. Making it more comprehensive.

Book Collection: International Medical Journals: In 1979, PMC library was able to get 12 international medical journals annually on regular bases. Their no. increased up to 60 international medical journals annually in 1996. But due to shortage of funds, there number decreased to 12 / year. But again rising due to the interest of the college authorities up to 24 medical journals / year in 2004.
Reading Rooms:
Recently college library has been provided with the facility of internet so students can use the net service for educational purpose. From college library internet has been provided to all the departments. CPSP Regional Office College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan (CPSP) has a regional office in college campus. A whole new regional CPSP center is under construction and in its final stages adjacent to college campus. CPSP center has been serving doctors for many years. It aids doctors for postgraduate admissions and training. From time to time it holds workshops for postgraduate students. Allied Hospital Allied Hospital is situated on Sargodha road adjacent to the college. Allied hospital is a teaching hospital and is attached to Punjab Medical College, Faisalabad. Total no. of beds in different wards of the hospital are 1150. Most of the clinical teachings of the students are done here. Hospital is fully equipped with the latest medical equipments. Hospital has an emergency department which works 24 hours a day and receives emergency patients from whole Faisalabad district. Emergency has its own 2 operation theatre and radiology lab. Out patient department of the hospital is works from 8 am to 2 pm on week days. It not only has General Medicine and Surgery out patient departments but also every sub specialty. Hospital structure is built according to any good standards of health institute. In fact it is the biggest hospital in district Faisalabad and receives the highest number of patients in the whole district. Hospital has 3 Surgical Units, 3 Medical Units, 1 Cardiology Unit, 2 ENT Units with Faciomaxillary surgery and Dental Surgery, 1 Pediatric Medicine and 1 Pediatric Surgery Unit, 1 Gynecology and Obstetrics Units, 1 Labor Unit with separate operation theatre, ICU and recovery room, 1 Radiology Unit, 1 Oncology Unit, 1 Nephrology Unit with dialysis Unit, 1 Urology Unit with Kidney transplant facilities, 1 Plastic Surgery and Burn Unit, 1 Orthopedics, 1 Ophthalmology Unit and 1 Neurosurgery Unit. Hospital has separate operation theatre for ENT, Orthopedics, General Surgery, Ophthalmology, Urology, Plastic Surgery and Neurosurgery. All these subspecialties give 24 hour emergency cover and have highly skilled and qualified doctors and paramedical staff. Hospital also has separate hostel for male, female and nurses. A nursing school is also present in the hospital premises where every year skill nurses graduate. Allied hospital is also involved in the postgraduate training in medical & surgical specialties. Hospital has facilities of Mortuary and Postmortem as well. College Auditorium College auditorium is a beautiful architecture with the capacity to adjust more than 500 students at a time. Auditorium is made according to the international standards and is equipped with all the basic facilities. College auditorium is fully air conditioned and also has facilities of audio-visuals. DHQ Hospital DHQ or District Head Quarter hospital is the oldest Government Hospital of the city. Before Allied hospital was built whole clinical teachings of the students used to held here but now it shares the burden of increasing number of medical students and patients with Allied Hospital. DHQ Hospital has 570 patients beds. Medical unit 4, Surgical Unit 4, Gynecology Unit 2, Psychiatry, Chest Diseases, Dermatology, CCU and ENT are the units of this hospital that are involved in clinical teachings of students of Punjab Medical College. Hospital has Pediatric, and Radiology units. Hospital also gives 24 hour emergency cover and receives a high number of patients in its out patient department which stays open from 8 am to 2 pm. DHQ also has a male doctors hostel and a nursing hostel. DHQ Hospital is also involved in the postgraduate training in a number of medical and surgical specialties. |
